Mr. Therman Vincent, son of the late Eugene and Norene Vincent was born on April 24, 1941, in Northampton County, NC. Heanswered God’s call to eternal rest and peace, Friday, October 27th, 2023, at his home in Hampton, Virginia.
During his early years, friends and family called him “Ham”. He received his formal education in the Northampton County school system before moving to Newport News, Virginia to work for the Newport News Shipyard where he worked as an electrician for nearly 40 years.
At a young age, Therman attended Patillo Chapel Missionary Baptist Church before joining Second Baptist Church (currently Miracle Temple Baptist Church) in Newport News. Here he served on the usher board for many years.
In 1965, he was united in holy matrimony to Doris Moore and God blessed them with 57 years of marriage.
Therman was no stranger to hard work and dedication – over the years, he was also a barber, butcher, and carpenter. During his retirement, you could always find him outside. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hearty conversations with the neighbors and friends in the yard, tending his garden and working on small engines.
In addition to his parents, Therman is reunited with his threebrothers (Jasper, Jerome, and Waddie Pernell Vincent) and sister, Geraldine Deloatch.
Those remaining to forever treasure the memory of his life and love are his devoted, caring, and loving wife, Doris Vincent of the home; His loyal and faithful children: Therman (Cordell) and wife, Kellie Vincent of Newport News, VA, Cheryl Vincent of Kennesaw, GA, and Charon and husband Hassan Dubose of Newport News, VA.
