Mr. Ronald Stanford Callahan was called home to rest on October 31, 2020. Born on July 26, 1957 to the late Calvin Callahan and Flora Mae Callahan McAlpin, Ronald was the oldest of four children. A native of Newport News, Virginia, he attended the public schools their graduating from Ferguson High School in 1975. Ronnie, as he was affectionately called, had a passion for music and drumming.
This talent afforded him a full scholarship in music where he matriculated at Elizabeth City State University, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Enlisting in the Army in 1979, Ronnie served his country with honor as a member of Special Forces. After his military career, he returned home to Newport News and live in that community for the majority of his life. Moving to Spotsylvania, Virginia, he met and married Rona Proctor.
A committed family man, who had a special love for his stepchildren, nieces and nephews, Ronnie loved family history and was passionate about sharing what he knew with family. He also loved sharing his passion for music and cars.
Ronnie leaves to cherish his memory his wife Rona Callahan; daughter; T'Annette Brooks; sisters, Teena Callahan, Patricia King (Howard), brother; Harold Anthony Callahan, a special niece; Tara Robertson; stepchildren; Brandy Whetzel (Bradley), Romano Childs and Chasity James (Antjuan), eleven grandkids, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends.
Visitation will be held for Mr. Callahan on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at C. C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
Services for Mr. Callahan will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Road, Hampton, VA. by Dr. Christopher C. Carter Sr.,
Interment to follow with military honors will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.

The family of Mr. Ronald S. Callahan has entrusted his final care to the staff of C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
The family will receive guests at the home of Mr. Callahan's sister, Ms. Patricia King, at 4808 81st Street, Hampton, VA.
