Mr. Robert E. Herbin

Mr. Robert “Bobby” Edward Herbin transitioned from this life and entered his eternal rest on November 21, 2025. He was born on June 19, 1932 in Newport News, Virginia to the late James Lester and Mary Ossie Slade Herbin. Robert was raised in the East End of Newport News and educated in the Newport News Public Schools System, attending Booker T. Washington Elementary and Huntington High School where he was a stellar football athlete.  

Robert met and married the love of his life, Mary, with whom he spent 70 years. To this union, six children were born. Robert was a hard worker, who was employed with the Newport News Shipyard, Newport News Public Schools, and as a master brick mason during his work career.  

Robert was an active member of United House of Prayer for All People where he served faithfully. He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, James Herbin, Kelvin Herbin, Ronald Herbin, Marcus Herbin, Corey Herbin, Dwight Herbin and Alphonso Herbin; daughters, Tonya Herbin, Barbaran Peterson, and Brenda Hargraves; sister, Naomi Davis; brother, George Herbin; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

It is the desire of the Herbin family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
