Mr. Rickey E. Wray aka Tom was born on September 23, 1956, in Portsmouth, Virginia, the son of the late William and Beulah Wray.
Rickey began his schooling in the Hampton Public School system and graduated from Pembroke High School, the Class of 1974. After school, Rickey secured emploment at Newport News Shipyard and Dry Dock and then Edward Legumes Funiture Company. He loved family, friends and the San Francisco 49ers.
Whenever possible (most often), Rickey's conversations focused on God's word. He loves God and on September 22, 2019, Rickey was baptized in the name of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Rickey Ellis Wray (64) went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 3, 2021. He is preceded in death by his father, William T. Wray Sr., mother Beulah P. Wray, sister Deloris Wray, brothers William (Bubba) Wray and Lewis Wray Sr., grandson Jermaine Lee, great granddaughter Nylah Humphrey, grand nieces Brianna Burke and Lauren Houser-Lewis, nephews Terrance Houston and McArthur Macklin Jr.
Rickey is survived by his daughters Katrina Lee (Ezell) and Marcella Spruill (Aaron), brothers Leroy Wray, William Wray Jr. and Tyrone Wray, sisters Barbara Macklin, Paulette Houser (Donnie) and Nancy Wray, as well as eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Viewing for Mr. Wray will be held from noon until 4:00p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2021 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home. Inc.,
Graveside services for Rickey will be held 1:00p.m. Monday, September 13, 20021 at Hampton Memorial Gardens. by Min. Harvey Cook
