Mr. Renard was born on July 6, 1957, second son of the late Rodney McGowan and Nellie Armstrong in Columbia, Mississippi and attended Marion County Schools. After graduating from East Marion High School, he join the United States Army and was proud to serve his country. When his service ended with the U.S. Army, “Mac” as some called him, was employed by James City County Transit, Jack L. Massie and J.S.G. Corporation.
Along life’s journey, he established a deeper relationship with Christ and joined Bethel Bibleway Church, now Bethel Restoration Center where he served as an Usher until his health no longer permitted.
Renard was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney McGowan & Nellie Armstrong and stepfather, Vernon Armstrong; brother Johnny Ray; grandson, Christian, nephew Rodney and niece Erica; great nephew Arian Jr.; as well as his loving adopted parents, A.Z. & Martha McFarland.
Renard leaves precious memories with his devoted wife Natasha Walker McFarland; two wonderful children Renard S. McFarland (Michelle) and Casey R. McFarland-Williams (Aljhae); the extra joys of his life, the three grandsons Brayden, Candon, and Alijah; three brothers, Joseph Armstrong, Vernon Armstrong Jr, and Steve Armstrong; five sisters, Edna McGowan, Cora Haynes, Diane Lee, Shirley Armstrong, and Loretta Wallace (Walter); Brother-in-law Ulylesses (Mary); four nieces, Kenya (Dexter), Natasha, Waltisha, Lola; eight nephews, Antonio, Jeremy, Mitchell, Lorenzo, Jakoven, Andre, Chris, Elliot; five great nieces Gaqueta, Khaliya, Khalani, Meagan, Jakoviana and Zaviana; seven great nephews, Christopher, Lozavius, Lorenzo, Mason, Messiah, DeJuan and James; God children, Jalyn, LaQuan; three honorary daughters, TaSheka, Brittany and Sierra; a host of loving cousins and friends.
Viewing for Mr. Mcfarland will be held from noon until 2:00p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Bethel Restoration Center, 6205 Richmond, Rd. Williamsburg, VA.
Services for Mr. McFarland will be held 2:00p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Bethel Restoration Church, 6205 Richmond, Rd. Williamsburg, VA. by Apostle John N.Gray. Masks and social distancing are required.
I
nternment with military honors will be held at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
