Mr. Raymond Rhames

Mr. Raymond Rhames of Newport News, Virginia answered the Master’s Call peacefully February 3rd 2021.  He was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on September 6, 1958 to the late Mrs. Alberta Rhames.  He was raised in Newport News, Virginia and graduated from Homer L Ferguson High School in 1977

Raymond retired as an Electrician Assistant at Hampton University after 30 years of service.  Raymond was preceded in death by his mother, Alberta Rhames and his sister, Dorothy Rhames.

Raymond Rhames married the love of his life Joasette Smith in 1994.  Raymond was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He was genuinely loved by his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish in his beautiful memory and legacy his beautiful wife Joasette  Rhames, sisters Willene R Trapp (George), Rosa M Witts (Earl) and Zornetta Martin; one brother, Ira Rhames; one Aunt Ann Murray; mother in- law Elizabeth Brinkley Smith sister in -law Sarah Barnes (Jimmie) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A walk through viewing for Mr. Rhames will be held from 1:00 until 5:00 PM Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at C. C. Carter Funeral Home. 

A Graveside service will be held 2:30 PM on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Hampton Memorial Gardens.by Dr. Christopher C. Carter Sr.,
