On Thursday, May 4, 2023, God called our Beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend from labor to rest. Quinton Cedric Branch Sr. was born on January 22, 1958, to the late Ernest Bo Branch Jr. and Louise Branch in the city of Newport News, the oldest of three and the pillar of his family.
Quinton graduated with the 1976 Class of Ferguson High School. After high school, he enlisted into the United States Army National Guard, and retired in 1998 as a E7, Sargent 1st Class.
Quinton was employed with Newport News Shipbuilding for over forty-two years and retired as a Master Shipbuilder Electrician in 2020.
Quinton and Daffie were just friends, even during high school, but it was their friend Hazel Eley that actually got them together. Forty-two years later, until his passing, these two were just meant to be! To this great union God blessed them with one son Quinton Branch Jr., daughter in love Stefani, and grandson Quadari. Prior to their marriage, Quinton was also blessed with his daughter Shavonna Lausterer. Quinton was introduced to Christ at a young age and attended The United House of Prayer for All People. He later joined Living Waters Redeemed Apostolic Church of Christ and went down in Jesus’s name on New Years Eve’s night 2012.
Quinton loved being outdoors, and most of his spare time was spent fishing and hunting, until his health started to decline. Quinton was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. When you saw him, he had a Dallas Cowboy hat on, knowing that was his conversation piece wherever he went.
Quinton was proceeded in death by his father Ernest Branch Jr., grandparents Martha and Ernest Branch Sr., and Claude and Ethel Parker; and daughter; Shavonna Lausterer. He is survived by his devoted wife Daffie Branch, son Quinton C. Branch, Jr. (Stefani) Hampton, Virginia, his mother Louise E. Branch; two sisters, Debora D. Nichols (Eric), Newport News, Virginia and Brenda M.
