Mickey M. Robinson, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, at Riverside Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on October 20, 1950, to the late Thomas and Doretha S. Robinson.
Mickey graduated from Bethel High School in 1970 and soon after, began his career as a pipefitter for Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company. A hardworking and dedicated individual, he later transitioned into construction, where he became a long-time employee of Pembroke Construction and Branscome. Known for his vibrant spirit, Mickey was truly the life of the party. He enjoyed watching his favorite soap operas, Netflix movie series, and football, as well as spending time with family and friends, sharing meals and laughter.
Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Doretha Robinson, and his daughter, Lisa Stanley.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Jason James (Ymani) and Matthew James; his siblings, Thomas Robinson Jr. (Joe), Joan Diane Rogers (Jerome), Anna Alston (Tommie), Larry Robinson (Angela), and Angela Regina Hamblett (Joe); his aunt, Josephine Smith; and a special friend, Regina James. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Mickey's joyful presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of warmth and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
