Mr. Michael Lankford

"But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord has sought him a man after his own heart, and the Lord hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou has kept that which the Lord commanded thee. I Samuel 13:14 On Tuesday November 3, 2020 Michael Lankford answered The Master's Call and transitioned from Earth to Glory.

His life begin on October 18,1964 in Southampton County Virginia to Pauline Lankford-Wright and the late Roosevelt Rowland. He attended York County Public Schools. Michael was a longtime employee of "Insulation Specialties Incorporated", (Hopewell, VA). He was admired by his employer (Mr.Bowen & Ms. Katie) and those who worked on his team. He had a great love for his community and always found a way to employ those in his community.

Michael's life echoed the saying, "If I can help someone along the way!" Affectionately called "Petey or Petey Boy" by those who knew and loved him. Petey gave his life to Jesus Christ many years ago. Whenever you asked Petey, "How are you?" He would always reply, "I'm Blessed by the Best!" He never complained about anything! He would always close out every phone call or visit with saying, "I Love You!" and a smile! He was a Born Shopper, loved to Dress and a Born GIVER! More than anything in the world he loved his kids and his family. Michael was one of the family leaders who made many sacrifices for the "Warren and Edwards" Family Reunion to continue yearly or whenever it was possible.

Michael was preceded  in death by his maternal grandparents Boss and Pauline Lankford, his father Roosevelt Rowland, his stepfather Joseph Wright his brother Roosevelt Smith and his Aunt Alice Tyler.

He leaves to cherish his mother Pauline Lankford-Wright. His children, Latoya Monroe (Donta Hines), LaNika Ashlock(Inga),Latasha Jasper(Arthur Fortune) and Lashawn Chapman(William Pierce). His grandchildren, Zoi Stephenson, Faith Hines, Zakeia Chapman, Mikeal Chapman, Jalayah Jasper, Alaina Fortune and ZyQwan Chapman. His sisters Barbara Lankford, Norita LankfordLevis(Pastor Samuel Levis), Gwendolyn Ruffin(Laverne) and his brother Andrew Smith. His niece Ebony Levis and his nephew Samuel Levis III. His great-niece Eva Levis and Mariah Levis. His great-nephew King Samuel Levis IV and a host of relatives and friends. Michael Lankford will truly be missed by everyone who crossed his pathway! His favorite passage of scriptures Luke 15:11-32 speaks of the Prodigal Son. Michael has gone back home to live with his heavenly father forevermore! Amen

Viewing for Mr. Lankford will be held from 1:00p.m until 5:00p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at C.C.Carter Funeral Home, Inc.

Services for Mr. Lankford will be held 11:00a.m.Thursday, November 12, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church 1415 Big Bethel Rd. Hampton, VA.by Dr. Christopher C. Carter Sr., 

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
