Mr. Maurice Angenvine Obituary

Mr. Maurice or lovingly known as "Schoolee" joined the Lord for eternal rest on May 7, 2026 peacefully in Hampton, Virginia. He was born in Manhattan, New York on May 10 1961 to the late Norma L. Mills and Ronald M. Angevine Sr.

Maurice grew up and attended school in Downtown Newport News, Virginia where he was loved and lived with many family members. He was employed for over 20 years at Basic Construction which later became Allan Myers.

He was lovingly adopted by the late Rev. Woodrow M. Brown Sr. and his wife Edith P. Brown and became an intricate part of the First Baptist Church East End. He was in charge of the custodial service at First Baptist Church East End of Newport News, and during that tenure the church received several grants for The Way Inc. to include the Thomas Jefferson Elementary School where several community programs were established.

To many Maurice was the life of the party, the one that always had a witty one liner, or the one that will never forget your birthday. He was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

He is preceded into death by his parents Ronald M. Angevine Sr., Norma L. Angevine, Rev. Woodrow M. Brown Sr. and Edith P. Brown, his grandparents, Alberta and Henry Mills (Ruth), brothers, Ronald M. Angevine Jr., Rev. Woodrow M. Brown Jr. (Elaine), his aunts Marilyn Martin, Sandra Hartwell (Herbert), and his uncles, James Brown, and Ernest Mills.

To continue to cherish his memory he leaves behind, his daughter, M. Parris Angenvine, his son, Sean Johnson, his granddaughters, Parker, Senaya, and Nyasia, his brother, Lonnis Angevine (Tasha), his sisters, Felicia Angevine, Renee Holloman (Thaddeus), Rodgerline Vann (Frankie), Shelli Gillis (Mark), and Woodrena Curtis (Ronald), and his aunt Gail Cosby, with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.

It is the desire of the Angenvine family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
