Mr. Lynn H. Johnson

Mr. Lynn Herbert Johnson departed on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Riverside Regional Medical Center.  He was born May 11, 1942 in Buckingham, Virginia to the late William and Sallie Lee.  Lynn graduated from Carver High School in 1961.  After graduation, he relocated to Patterson, New Jersey for a short time and then moved back to Newport News, VA.   Lynn began working for Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Company where he worked in department X-11 for 35 years and retired in 2006.

In 1972 he married the love of his life, Carmilla and to their union, two children were born.  During his spare time, Lynn enjoyed helping others, fixing cars, spending time with grandchildren, fellowshipping with family and watching his favorite NFL team, the Washington Football Team.  He leaves to cherish his memory: wife of 49 years, Carmilla Johnson; two children, Krystal (Leman) and Travis Johnson of Newport News, VA; five grandchildren, Tyre’k, Ziah, Legend, Leyhana & Taylor; one great-grand, Melody; sister, Margaret (Nathaniel) Davis; brother, Clarence (Mindy) Johnson. He is preceded in death by mother and father (William and Sallie Lee). 

Viewing for Mr. Johnson will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 from noon to 4:00 p.m.  at C. C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.

Services will be held for Mr. Lynn H.Johnson 1:00p.m  Sunday, September 26, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church 1415 Big Bethel, VA. Masks and social distancing are required.
