Mr. Lucien Henry Clark, affectionately known as L.C., was born on June 26, 1948, in Biscoe, North Carolina, to Samuel and Daisey Clark. He peacefully transitioned at home on February 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Lucien was educated in the Newport News Public Schools System, where he made a lasting impression as a Drum Major at Carver High School. His passion for music and leadership shone brightly during those formative years. Following his education, Lucien dedicated many years to the construction and carpentry industry, taking great pride in the bridges he helped build throughout the Tidewater area.
A man of simple pleasures, Lucien found joy in sitting outside, listening to music, and watching Westerns. He cherished the time spent with his family, often going on fishing trips and cheering on his beloved sports teams—the Washington Redskins (now known as the Commanders, but always the Redskins in his heart) and Boston Celtics.
Lucien was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 40 years, Lucille; parents, Samuel and Daisey Clark; and siblings, Joe, Askure, and Ida Clark and Priscilla Walker.
Lucien is survived by his loving children: Clarence Daniels (Karen) of Hampton, VA, Michelle Christopher (Larry) of Nassawadox, VA Eastern Shore, Thelma Kelley of Newport News, VA, Tracey, Troy and Tara Brewer of Bowie, MD. Brother Samuel Clark of Hampton, VA and sister Clatie Eure (Warren) of Suffolk, VA. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Essence, Zhane, Erica, Rico, Demaris, Romnie, Dominique (Teresa), Juanita (Twan), and Adam. Great-grandchildren: Akia, Jayden, and Samir and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Lucien will be remembered for his warm spirit, unwavering love for his family, and the joy he brought to those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
