Mr. Leroy Deavereaux son of the late Johnnie Sr. and Magalene Deavereaux was born on February 14,1946 in Portsmouth, VA. He lived to attain the age of 74. He departed this life on Thursday, April 30,2020.
Leroy attended I.C. Norcum high school in Portsmouth VA, where he then chose to join the Army in September of 1965. Affectionately known as “Little Daddy” he enjoyed automotive mechanic work, music, playing cards, family gatherings, and baseball. The Yankees were his favorite team. He was a faithful member and deacon of the Pentecostal Church of God until his health failed.
Leroy is predeceased by his siblings George, Richard, Johnnie II, Charles, Evelyn, Mary, Annie and Ophelia.
He leaves to cherish his memories his baby brother Frederick Deavereaux and a loving sister-in-love Yvonne Deavereaux. A son Jerome Johnson, a daughter June Johnson and a special daughter-in-love Vanessa Davis; four grandsons Jerome Jr., James Johnson, Dylan Baptista and Jaleel Johnson; two granddaughters Jennifier Mccloud and Jada Johnson; six great grandchildren, a very special great niece Jewal Wilson and a host of nieces and nephews.
