On Wednesday, January 17,2018 Mr. Leon Callis Jr., affectionately known as "Jay" was called home by his heavenly father .
He was born on Nov. 4, 1959 to Leon and the late Annie B. Callis. Jay was educated in the Hampton Public School System.
He was self- employed plumber. In addition to his mother Jay was preceded in death by a sister and brother Brenda and Michael Callis.
He leaves to cherish his memories his father and step-mother Leon and Julie Callis; two sons Tracy Simpson and Leon Vinston; four grandchildren, Jalen, Amiyah and Daneysia Simpson and Makenzie Best;Three sisters Barbara Dunn, Cynthia "Reese" Callis and Evangela Richardson - Studwell (Eric). Two Brothers Andre Richardson and Antoine Richarson; two aunts Maddie Bush and Elaine Revelle; two uncles, Thomas Dunn and Lafayette Dunn' Eight nieces five nephews and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Jay will be missed. He was a funny, playful and loved seafood.
A memorial service will be held noon Thursday, January 25, 2018 in the Chapel of C.C.Carter Funeral Home. Inc. 3314 Roanoke Ave. Newport News, VA.
