Mr. Larry E. Baker Transitioned on Saturday November 26, 2022 at Riverside Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. James(Father) and Mrs. Doris(Mother) Baker. Three brothers James H., Anthony and Wendell Baker. Two sisters Bertha Barker an Theresa Middleton. Grandmother Lizzie Smalls and Grandson Derrick A. Benjamin. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife Mrs Venesta O. Baker. His children Derrick A. Copeland(Asia), Erica Lockhart, Kevin, Larry D., Joycelyn and Jasmine Baker and his bonus daughter LaKeisha Cogdell. His grandchildren Michael Joyner, Devin A. Copeland and his bonus grandson Tony Cogdell, Dy'Monique an Emiya Singleton. His great grandson Tra'Quan Burton that meant the world to him along wit seven other great grands he lived with all of his heart. His siblings Michael S. Baker, Lonnie Nichols(Rose). Ellen Lowe(Tommy), Dot Vaugh, Laverne Hamlin (Melvin). Along with a host of niece's an nephews that he loved deeply an two special friends from Chicago
Larry E. Baker was born June 23, 1953 to the late Mr. James and Doris Mae Baker in Suffolk, VA. He attended Suffolk public schools were he would after school move to Chicago were he would work for the City of Chicago driving the city bus for thirty years before returning to home state of Virginia reuniting with his true love who would become his wife Mrs. Venesta O. Baker whom he would spend the last nineteen yrs of his life with.
He loved his jazz music as well as a good Thursday an Sunday night football game. He also had to play his lottery. He was a family man that loved spending time with his family especially his two brothers Lonnie an Michael who were more than brothers but his best friends.
He loved goofing around with his great grandson Tra'. Though he didn't say much his presence spoke volumes. He will be greatly missed as he is reunited with his family as his listens to that smooth jazz in the sky. Rest Peacefully You Peaceful Man.
