Mr. Ka'marion Kemp- Hill Obituary

Ka’marion Anthony Kemp-Hill was born on November 2, 2009 in Richmond County, Augusta, GA to Antoneika Kemp and Marion Alondre´ Hill.  On Friday, January 5, 2024, angels were dispatched from heaven to fly him from his home in Newport News, VA to his heavenly home above.

He was an eighth-grade student at Mary Passage Middle School in Newport News, VA.  Ka’marion was adopted by his paternal grandparents, Apostle Marion and Saint Sheila Hill in 2016 at the age of six, although he had been in their care since being two months old.  Ka’marion was born a normal child, but suffered an unfortunate illness as an infant that spiraled into one complication after another, resulting in a lifetime of sickness and disabilities.  Each hurdle was a new challenge, but in every instance, God healed, delivered, and helped him overcome.  Ka’marion was one of Daddy Bailey’s first miracles, and was dearly loved by him.  Dad affectionately called him “My Boy.”  He defied the medical and scientific odds, as well as the doctors’ predictions.  Doctors declared Ka’marion legally blind, but Daddy Bailey anointed his eyes, and he could see.  The doctors said hewouldn’t walk, but to the amazement of many, he began walking in November 2017 at 8 years old.  Daddy Bailey said “the doctors are scratching their heads; they don’t know what to make of him; every time they think they have it figured out, he does something different.”

Despite the many challenges and odds against him, Ka’marion was a happy boy, deeply loved by his family, and sharply dressed.  His Uncle Cedric made sure he was sportily clad in Jordan outfits, while GrandMa made sure he was always dapper sharp for the House of Prayer, and cool for school.  Childhood activities, fun things to do, traveling to Myrtle Beach and vacationing at Disney World were memories made special by his loving Aunt Gina.  From the beginning, Aunt Monica was by his side, cuddling, caring and making sure “kodak” moments were captured for memory.  His nurture and well-being were a family affair, both near and extended, with added supportand love from his “village.”

Most people saw his disability, but Ka’marion saw through a different lens and marched to a different drumbeat.  He absolutely believed in giving God his praises.  It was nothing for him to come out of the pew and walk across the Mountain, with his favorite red tambourine stick, to join in with the band.  During service, he would scoot across the mountain on his knees, and when he really felt good, he would stretch out in the floor.  He didn’t just praise; he also worked the G-Class program, ranking in the Runners Up to the Top 100 for five years.  This year, his G-Class number is 1381 (tie).   He was crowned “King” of the 2023 State Youth Invasion.  As a member of the New Generation, he was the Top Youth member in Dad’s Love Gift under Daddy Bailey and on Daddy Cunningham’s first visit to Virginia.  Before coming to Virginia, Ka’marion was a Bailey Altar Boy; and no, he couldn’t walk then, but he could uniform.  In parades, he uniformed and rolled in his stroller alongside the Virginia State Marching Band, and uniformed in the State Youth Productions.

God’s hand of grace was always on him, and it continued with Daddy Cunningham.  With Ka’marion’s health declining in November 2023, Daddy Cunningham prayed and asked God to “extend grace; and then, when God says so.”  We thank God for His extension of grace, and for our beloved Ka’marion, who now runs free with the angels.

Left to cherish so many precious memories are:  his lovingpaternal grandparents, Apostle Marion and Saint Sheila Hill; father, Marion A. Hill (Zaina); mother, Antoneika Kemp; paternal great-grandmother, Sis. Mary Belton; maternal great-grandmother, Sis. Betty Parker; aunt, Melanie Willie (Jeremy); cousins, Mariyah, Paris, Storm, Jerh-mel, Bailey, BJ, and Bella; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
