Mr. Joseph D. Butler lll, a devoted husband, loving, father, an accomplished businessman, passed away, peacefully, surrounded by family.
Born on September 21, 1947, Joseph attended Manhattan Community College, where he became involved in several organizations, including the Phi Zeta Gamma fraternity. During his time in school, he formed, lifelong friendships, united by a shared love of card games and laughter-filled gatherings. These enduring bonds remained a constant source of joy throughout Joseph’s life.
Joseph went onto earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Baruch College. He later built a successful career with Allstate insurance, where he owned and operated his own agency. His hard work, integrity, and leadership earned him numerous awards, along with the distinguished Humanitarian award for his service to the community.
Joseph was a man who loved to socialize and build meaningful connection wherever he went. He enjoyed various activities, including golfing, racquetball, paddle ball, attending plays, cruising, and traveling.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Butler, his two cherished daughters, Shardae and Tracey. He was a devoted grandfather to Ryan, Jasmine, and Jordan. Great grandfather to Yazmine, Le’veon, and Raphael.
He is survived by his brother Joseph, and his sister Teresa. His loving sister-in-law, Gwendolyn, Barbara , and Regina. His devoted son-in-law’s Marcus, and Tremaine. He is also survived by his cherish aunt Iris, who is 100 years old, as well as his dear cousins, Mary Frances, Kevin, Lynda, Sylvia, Bruce, Donald. A host of distant relatives and friends that will forever hold his memory close to their heart's.
Joseph is now resting in the arms of Jesus. The angles sang and Jesus whispered, “Take your rest.”
