Mr. Jevon Marsel Harper, 30, resided in Conyers, GA. Jevon gained his wings on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, nephew, and godparent.
Jevon was born in Hampton, Virginia on Friday, March 5, 1993 to Davondra “Kicky” Harper and the late Christopher B. Harper. Jevon was an avid athlete who prided himself on his ability to build relationships. His love of basketball gave him an outlet to express his larger-than-life personality. Those who were lucky enough to know Jevon, will remember him for his kindness, smile, sense of humor, way with words, big hugs and loving heart.
Jevon graduated from Bethel High School, class of 2011. During his time there, he earned First Team All-Peninsula District honors as a senior and Honorable Mention-All District as a junior. Following high school, Jevon was recruited by and earned a scholarship to Christopher Newport University. After college, Jevon pursued a host of opportunities that included: Semi-Pro basketball, youth basketball coach, event promoter, content creator, stand-up comedy and entrepreneurship.
Jevon was preceded in death by his father, Christopher B Harper, paternal grandparents, Linwood and Selma Harper and maternal grandparents, David and Marie Barnwell Sr., uncles, Linwood “Butch” Harper, David A. Barnwell Jr. and Michael A. Harper, aunt, Yvonne Harper and cousin, LeCreetia M. Barnwell.
Jevon leaves to cherish his memories, mother Davondra “Kicky” Harper ; brothers Christopher B. Harper II (Lynette), Armand J. Harper (Jeanna), Roland Harper (Dana); sister, Yolanda C. Harper; devoted girlfriend Cyla D. Jones aunts: Yettah A. Rogers; Deborah J. Harper-Bridges (Fred) and Evelyn C. Harper; uncle: Dinardo “Dino” Barnwell; cousin/ “Little Brother”, Diondre Barnwell (Tiahni); devoted godmother/auntie Karen Jackson (Deon); nieces, nephews, great-nieces/nephews, cousins, a host of family and friends.
