Mr. Jerry Sylvester Luster, 68, of Hampton, VA, passed away peacefully in his home on November 1, 2023. He was born to John T. Luster and Lucille Elizabeth Davis on March 12, 1955.
After graduating from Pembroke High School, Jerry went on to start his career with Newport News Shipyard, as a rigger, where he remained for many years. During his younger days, Jerry was recognized for his exceptional dressing sense and was even given the nickname "Pimp". His love for exercising was evident in his toned and muscular build. He was also an avid fan of fast cars, and took great pride in his own collection by maintaining them meticulously while blasting his favorite tunes. His passion was so great that he not only worked on his own car regularly, but also dabbled in assembling small toy cars as a hobby. Jerry had a remarkable talent for making others laugh. His sense of humor was innate and infectious. Simply being in his presence was enough to guarantee a good laugh.
The cherished memory of Mr. Luster's playful spirit will live on through his daughter, Shanita Elliott (Aaron); his only granddaughter, Erin; his loving and devoted partner, Valerie Green. He is also survived by his brothers: David Luster, Robert Davis Jr., Anthony Davis (Gwenita), Ernest Davis and Raymond Davis (Meika); his sister, Barbara Brown (Mario); as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John T. Luster and Lucille Elizabeth Davis; son, Lemarcus Garner; brothers, James E. Golden, Bobby Golden, Charles Golden and John Luster.
The Luster family ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers at this time.
