Mr. Jerry "Junebug" Doswell, Jr.

Jerry “Junebug” Doswell, Jr. transitioned from this life on Saturday, January 2, 2021.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Thad and Dorothy Lee (nee’ Doswell) Eatmon; and biological father, Jerry Doswell, Sr.  Jerry was born on April 18, 1956 in Hampton, VA, and graduated from Hampton High School in 1976.  After a brief stint in the military, Jerry returned to Hampton where he remained a lifelong resident for a number of years. 

Jerry was someone who was always willing to help even during those times when he was not certain what was needed—he was there.  He appreciated a good joke and being in the company of family and friends.  Jerry enjoyed watching karate and kung fu movies with Bruce Lee being one of his heroes.  In his later years, he appreciated any and all things football.  

He is survived by his wife Karen (nee’ Dixon); brothers Clifton and Arnold (London); sisters Delores, Matilda, Linda (Michael), Yolanda and Enette; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces/nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at C. C. Carter Funeral Home.  If attending, please adhere to social distancing guidelines.
