Jerry Wayne Davis was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on March 17, 1960 to the late Charlie and Ruby Gertrude Davis. Jerry peacefully gained his wings at home on April 24, 2024.
Jerry graduated from Appomattox High School in Appomattox, Virginia. He moved to Newport News from Lynchburg.
Jerry loved working with his hands and was a great designer and carpenter. He also loved all kinds of music. Jerry worked for Huntington Ingalls (Newport News Shipbuilding) the last 20 years.
He joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House, Virginia at an early age. He later rededicated his life at Perfecting Saints Ministries International and Church in Hampton, Virginia.
Jerry was preceded in death by his sisters Vergie and Gertie Mae, also brothers Cal, Columbus, Joe, Hebert Lee, Luther, Hubert, William and Murrell.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 34 years Barbara Davis; two daughters, Tamika Hamlet and Sharnice Davis, both of Newport News, VA; one son, Keith Brogdon (Janet) of Myrtle Beach, SC. Also left to treasure his memories is sisters Ruth Ann Haskins of Hampton, VA and Ella Megginson of Appomattox, VA; and one brother Ryland Davis also of Appomattox, VA. Jerry also leaves 3 granddaughters, 5 grandsons and 2 great grandchildren. Remaining in-laws are father-in-law Willie Brogdon, 3 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law; and Timothy Berkley who was like a brother. There is also a host of loving nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

The family of Mr. Jerry Davis has entrusted his final care to C. C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
Military honors, will be held at the Chapel following funeral service for Mr. Davis.
