Mr. Jerome Moody Obituary

Mr. Jerome Moody, born on September 7, 1949, peacefully transitioned to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior on February 9, 2025. He was the cherished son of the late Clyde Lee, Sr. and Nepphie Moody.

Affectionately known as Moody, he was a beacon of light in the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. His time on this earth was characterized by kindness, love, and a deep compassion for others. His departure has created a profound emptiness in the hearts of his family, friends, and countless individuals whose lives he enriched.

A proud graduate of Huntington High School, Jerome served his country honorably as a Marine during the Vietnam War. He dedicated 47 years of his life to the Newport News Shipyard as a Pipe Tester before retiring. Known for his unwavering support of the Washington Commanders, he loved attending social gatherings and spending quality time with his family, especially his beloved sons. Jerome will be fondly remembered for his infectious smile, his endearing nickname for everyone as “Carolina,” and his steadfast commitment to spreading love and kindness to all he met. His ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him has left an indelible mark on everyone who had the pleasure of crossing his path.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Lee Moody Sr. and Nepphie Moody; two brothers, Clyde Moody, Jr. and Louis Moody; a sister, Delores Moody; and a sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Moody.

He is survived by his life partner, Theresa Evans; three sons, Kevin Moody of Virginia Beach, VA, Jerard Evans (Shana) of Richmond, VA, and Brandon Evans (LaDonna) of Hampton, VA; one sister, Louise Coles (Wendell) of Newport News, VA; one uncle, Roosevelt Tucker (Dizelle) of Washington, D.C.; one sister-n-law, Ann Moody of Hampton; four grandchildren, Kevin, Jr., Brayden, Kai, and Kaia; along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, relatives, and cherished friends
