Mr. James Tuck Obituary

Mr. James Elvis Tuck, born to Juanita C. Tuck and James A. Tuck on March 10, 1957, transitioned on June 24, 2026, at home with family to be with our Heavenly Father.

James Elvis Tuck, affectionately known as "Elvis," grew up in a loving neighborhood on Quash Street in Hampton, VA. A 1975 graduate of Pembroke High School, he followed in his father's footsteps by entering the construction industry. He mastered the craft of concrete finishing and took great pride in his work, serving in the industry for over 35 years.

Elvis married Janet Featherston on July 1, 1989, and together they raised four children. An avid fisherman, he shared his love for the sport with his children and grandchildren. He was known for his love of singing and was always surrounded by family during birthdays and holidays. Elvis was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and James Tuck, and his sister, Deborah Dorsey.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janet; his daughters, Tiffany (Marcus Finnell), Jessica (Conrad Lewellyn), and Michelle (Marquis Finnell); and his son, James Jr., all of Hampton, VA. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His legacy continues through his sister, Cynthia (Johnnie Foster) of Hampton, VA; his brother, Keith Tuck (Myra Tuck) of Alabama; sisters-in-law Nettie (Nehemiah Taylor) of New York and Ruth Lappner of Georgia; and brothers-in-law Clinton Featherston and George Featherston (Toni) of Hampton, VA. He is also survived by his goddaughter, Natasha Daniel; bonus children Kalisha Ellis, Raymond Craven, and Torique Merrell; his best friend, Anthony Harrell (Pamela); and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Elvis was our provider, protector, and the love of Janet's life. He leaned on the Lord to navigate life's trials, remaining strong and without complaint through his faith. Although he will be sorely missed, we take comfort in knowing he is walking through Heaven, waiting for the day we are reunited.

It is the desire of the Tuck family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
