Mr. James Jarvis, Jr.

Mr. James Henry Jarvis, Jr. was called to eternal rest on June 16, 2025. A lifelong resident of Newport News, Virginia, James worked alongside his father for many years at J.J.’s Custom Cabinets, where he took great pride in his craft and in continuing the family legacy. 

James was a man who truly lived life to the fullest. Known as the life of the party, he had a gift for bringing laughter and light to every room he entered. His sense of humor, quick wit, and warm personality made him unforgettable to all who knew him. 

He had a deep love for riding motorcycles and found freedom on the open road. A loyal San Francisco 49ers fan, he wore his team colors with pride and cheered them on through every season. He also enjoyed the peace and quiet of fishing — whether by himself or with loved ones, it was one of his favorite ways to relax and reflect. 

Above all, James cherished his family and friends. He leaves to honor and cherish his memory his devoted wife, Bridget Jarvis; his children, Kiona Jarvis, Jeshaan Jarvis, Dominique Jarvis, Jonathan Beale, Tracy Beale, and Tiara Stribling; and his ten beloved grandchildren. 

He is also survived by his loving parents, James Henry Jarvis Sr. and Marilyn Jarvis, and his sisters, Kimberly Jarvis-Bottley and Robin Echols. 

James will be deeply missed by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many cherished friends.
