Mr. Houston Robinson Obituary

On June 20, 2026 Houston Eugene Robinson A beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle and Dear friend was called home by our Heavenly Father after a long battle of pain and other health issues.

Houston was born on October 13, 1946 in Newport News Va to the late Houston “Bubbie” Robinson and Bessie Robinson. At a young age he was baptized at First Baptist Church N.N. He attended C.W. Carver High School and after graduating in 1965 he started working at the Newport News Shipbuilding. In 1966 Houston decided to join the military and after 2 years of service in the Army he decided to go back to the Shipyard where he was a dedicated and hard worker for the next 44 years.
In 1969 Houston married the love of his life Irma and they had 3 children Alphonso, Damon, and ShaRhonda “monique” He was a family man and father figure to many. He was driven to teach discipline, responsibility and goals not only to his own kids but the children in the neighborhood where he was deeply loved. Houston had a heart of gold and would go out and beyond for anyone who needed him.

Houston loved holidays, family gatherings, cookouts and riding out for quality time with his wife more than anything Houston loved being home in his comfort zone that he called the “Ponderosa” He loved watching tv and his favorite was watching his team the Philadelphia Eagles.

Houston was preceded in death by his father Houston “Bubbie” Robinson, Mother Bessie Robinson and Brother Clifford Robinson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his caregiver and wife of 57 years Irma Robinson of Hampton, 2 Sons Alphonso Robinson of Virginia Beach, Damon Robinson of Hampton and 1 Daughter ShaRhonda “monique” Holloway of Newport News 1 Sister Patricia Robinson Tinsley brother in law Roy Tinsley of Newport News 1 Brother Michael Robinson of Newport News 2 Granddaughters Jimiyah and Keyona Burrell, 1 Grandson Jimmie Eugene Burrell Mother in law Hattie Joel 3 sister in laws Gail Lambert, Terri Joel, and Connie Joel and a brother in law William Joel and a host of family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Shirley Murphy and Tiara Wiggins and the team at Sentara Hospice and Hospice house of Williamsburg. Also all the special members of Macedonia, The Algonquin road family and close friends who stood by us visited and prayed with us during this difficult time.

A special thank you to C.C. Carter and staff for the excellent job they did.

It is the  Robinson family desire that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.  

The family of Mr. Houston Robinson has entrusted his final care to C.C. Carter Funeral Home.
