Mr. Harold E. Smith Jr.

Harold Eugene Smith Jr., 48 and a resident of Hampton, VA., departed this life for an eternal home on Monday, May 16, 2022. He was born in Emporia, Virginia before moving to Campti, Louisiana shortly after his birth. Harold, was known to many by “Bumper” and was a loving person.

He was born to Harold E Smith, Sr. and Velma J. Smith on September 22, 1973. He graduated from Campti High School, Campi, LA where he was very active in clubs and was very known by both faculty and student body. Harold resided in Louisiana until he relocated to Virginia with his mother. He never married.

Harold was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, Ruth Demery and George Smith and Cecil Gennell Oliver and George Moody Jr., respectively.  Also by aunt Vannessa S. Oliver.

Harold leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Harold E. Smith Sr. and Velma J. Smith; daughters Asiah Washington of Natchitoches, LA and Ashante' Smith-Gregory of Newport News, VA, and granddaughter, A'niyah Gregory. Cherishing his memories also are uncles Rickey Oliver, Charles Oliver, William Oliver and Keith Oliver all of whom are from Newport News, VA.  Also aunts Gloria Dean Murphy of Houston, TX, Rene Cotton-Thomas of Lafayette, LA, Randi Jones of Aberdeen, MD and Samantha Oliver of Hampton, VA.  Harold also leaves a host of cousins and friends who will remember him fondly.

Harold's positive personality and upbeat spirit will be remembered.
