Mr. Gregory Darnell Robinson, a loving and generous family man, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, while listening to his favorite Donnell Jones and Lyfe Jennings songs. He was 52 years old.
Born on September 17, 1972, in Richmond, Virginia, Gregory was a man who deeply cherished his family, his friends, and his favorite football team—the Dallas Cowboys. Known for his big heart and bigger laugh, Gregory found joy in life’s simple pleasures: playing cards, tossing horseshoes, watching football, and spending time with the people he loved most.
Gregory was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Clarice Robinson, and his father figure, Thomas Adkins (affectionately known as BD). He is survived by his devoted companion, Rosa Speller.
Gregory’s legacy of love continues through his children, DaQuan Davis and Diamonique Edwards, along with her husband Joseph Edwards and bonus grandson Khalil Roane. He also leaves behind his sister Carolyn Marrow and brothers Dirrell Robinson, Ernest Brown, and Clay Brooks. His bond with them was deep, enduring, and filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
A host of nieces and nephews who adored him: Keona Robinson, DeWayne Marrow, David Marrow, Derrick Robinson, Jeff Marrow, LaKisha Piggot (Dominique), Shayla Adkinson, Ashley Adkinson, Cory Ellis, and Mo Williams.
Gregory was especially close to his cousins who were raised like siblings: Lisa Holliday, Lorenzo Robinson, Jeff Robinson, Kenneth Robinson and Laura Brooks.
He is also survived by many more cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will remember him as a man who gave freely of his time, his jokes, and his heart.
Gregory lived a life rooted in love, loyalty, and laughter. He will be remembered not only for the joy he brought to others but for the example he set in strength, resilience, and devotion to family.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
It is the desire of the Robinson/ Edwards families that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
