It is with Heavy Hearts that our beloved father and son Gregory Darnell Kelly has passed. He is the father of two beautiful children, a son Miles Darnell Kelly and a daughter, Brianna Danyell Kelly. He is survived by his mother, Arlene D Kelly Wright and Father, Larry Darnell Beverly. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Gladys Kelly and uncle Gary A Kelly. Also, he is survived by his younger brother, Rayvin Demonn Smith, his two grandchildren, Chloe Renee Kelly of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Kaidon Dimir Kelly Mcllwain of Charlotte, NC.
He is also survived by an aunt, Shirley Hernandez in Philadelphia, PA and an uncle Clafton Moses in Orlando, FL. He graduated from Homer L Fergusion in 1988 and was an all-around sportsman who participated in Track and Field, Wrestling, Football and Basketball.
He was honorably discharge from the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller in 1995 and received several accolades and special accommodations for his outstanding service.
He will be sadly missed by all family members. Gregory would talk to his Father, Larry everyday and watch the West Minster Dog Show together, as that was his favorite show.
He would talk to his Daughter everyday and they would talk about anything ranging from Movies and politics to his Grandchildren, Chloe and Kaidon, whom he loved very much. He would often check in to see how Miles was doing and he kept his mother informed on his medical condition daily. He would say Ma , I am just checking in.His mother would advise him to be strong, don’t give up, God has the final say. Him and his brother would often converse about sports and Greg would trash talk about them Ravens, Ray favorite team. Greg often mentioned how excited he was to see what sports Kaidon, his 3 year old grandson, would end up liking.
And that he couldn’t wait to cheer him on at his games. He was also enamored by how quickly Chloe was growing up and turning into a bright young lady. He enjoyed the trips he took to New Mexico to see her and the movie trips he took with Kaidon. His goofy and uplifting personality and strong spirit will be dearly missed by his eldest son, whom he was proud of, Miles Darnell Kelly. His Baby girl Briannah Danyell Kelly.
And his grand kids whom they reference to him as Daddy, Chole Renee Kelly and Kaidon Dimir Kelly McIlwain. We know that he is rejoicing to be reunited with the Lord our Savior and endures no more suffering. He was a man of GOD and was a firm believer. And would advise and console those in need with the word of GOD. His counsel, encouragement and advice will be missed..
