Mr. Gregory B. Bruington Jr.

Mr. Gregory Bernard Bruington Jr. died March 10th, 2024, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born February 8th,1994 in Portsmouth, VA. The son of Gregory Bernard Bruington Sr. and Kesha Rena Bruington. Gregory attended Hampton Public Schools and graduated from Bethel High School in 2012, where he was a member of the JR. ROTC and the rugby team.

Furthering his commitment to his country, he joined The National Guard where he served 12 years. While serving in The National Guard, Gregory continued his education earning his Associate degree from Thomas Nelson Community College and his Bachelor's degree from Old Dominion University in Criminology. Gregory was an entrepreneur, artist, and social media influencer. He was employed by CACI a local military contractor who provided IT support throughout the US government. He was always calm, rational, and understanding.  He was known by his loving Mother as her Gentle Giant.  

Gregory is survived by his parents Gregory Bernard Bruington Sr and Kesha Bruington (William Heggs). His sisters Aleeya and Andersen Bruington and his brother Vaughn Nash. His Paternal Grandmother Evelyn Bruington. His Maternal Grandparents Artis Lee Thorne (Jean) and Bevery Thompson.  His bonus grandparents Clifford and Lula McDonald, who loved him as their own. Paternal Aunts and Uncles Carolyn Chatman, Gwendolyn White (Mark), Rosie & Margaret Hudson, Booker Bruington (Shawn), Lee Bruington (Barbara), and Buddy Hudson. Maternal Aunts and Uncles Maxine Cooper (Anthony), Artis A. Thorne (Tawanda), Kevin Thorne (Nyeika) and Jimmy Wilson.

Also left to cherish his memory, the love of his life, his forever person Haley Frazier.

We would also like to recognize a special group of people; they were instrumental in Gregorys’ life. Sherry Venny, 
Otha Chatman, Denetra Darby, Chyna McCoy, Mark, Michael, Shawn, Marvin, and Ricardo Bruinton. As well as many other Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and close Friends that loved him dearly. 

Gregory was a light within our family that will truly be missed. 

It is the desire of the Bruington family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

The family of Mr. Gregory  B. Bruington Jr,, has entrusted his final care to  C. C. Carter Funeral Home.
