Mr. George Edward Harvey
On Saturday, March 28, 2020 George Edward Harvey entered into eternal rest at Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia due to some lengthy health issues.
George was affectionately called BJ by those who knew him. BJ was born on December 22, 1959 to Doris Harvey-Small and Thomas McNair in Enfield, North Carolina. At a young age his family relocated to Virginia and later to New York City. BJ is a graduate of Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, New York.
BJ was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything.
He was a truck driver by trade and enjoyed being on the road and enjoyed being with his loved ones. He would be on the road all week and still come home, grab his family and hit the road just in time to make it to Thanksgiving at his grandmother’s house.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rev. William and Selma Harvey; his paternal grandparents Wesley and Macholia McNair. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather Dennis Small.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Eloise Harvey; four children, Dewayne Romero, Antwan Braxton(Tammy), Wayne Braxton(Laura) and Elsie Braxton; seven grandchildren and one great- grandchild. He is also survived by his brothers Derrick and Reginald Small; Tommy and Timothy McNair; three sisters Mary and Dana McNair; Ester McNair-Small; two uncles James Harvey(Gussie), William Harvey(Julia); four aunts Mattie Banks(Stanley,Sr), Carolyn
Silas(Willie), Wilhelmina Hill(Bobby) and Brenda Williams(Bobby).
Viewing for Mr. Harvey will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 09, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
Per request of the family services and interment will be private.
