Mr. Gennie "Punch" Williams

Mr. Gennie “Punch” Williams, 81 years old departed this life on March 20, 2020 at Sentara Care Plex Hospital in Hampton, Va. He was born March 14 1939 in Halifax Country, Scotland Neck North Carolina to the parents of the late Gennie and Judy Hardy Williams.

He received his education from the Halifax County School System In North Carolina after graduating from Brawley High School. Punch moved to Newport News, Va., and lived with his sisters for a while until he moved out on his own. Punch loved his family. You would always see him walking with a cheerful smile on his face, for anyone that new him, football was his favorite sport, and he loved them Dallas Cowboys. He was a hard worker even thru his illness which slowed him down. He gave Newport News Shipyard over 46 years plus and still didn't want to retire. He was a very honorable and loving man until God called him home, “Punch” you will be missed. “ Go Dallas”

Preceding him in death was: Mother, Judy Hardy Williams and Father, Gennie Williams. Three Sisters, Sarah Hill , Beatrice Smith and Alice Hardy. Two Brothers, Wash Hardy and Louis Hardy Sr., Two Aunts, Carrie Hardy Jacobs and Lucille Hardy Shields Jasper. Two Nephews James Hill and Louis Hardy Jr., He leaves to cherish his memory: His long time Love Miss Ida Mae Parham of Newport News, Va., One Nephew Mike Hardy, Two Nieces, Glinnie Hardy Goodman (Charles) and Debbie Williams (Willie), One Sister-In -Law, Carrie
Hardy all from Scotland Neck N.C., and a host of Cousins and Friends.

Viewing for Mr. Williams will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.

Services for Mr. Williams will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home Inc. (Private).

Interment will take place on Monday, April 6, 2020 at Staton Cemetery in Scotland Neck, North Carolina.
