Mr. Gary A. Spencer Jr.

Mr. Gary Alexander Spencer Jr., 45, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born to Gary and Tina Spencer, Gary grew up with a big heart, a sharp sense of humor, and an unwavering dedication to the people he cared about most.

Gary spent many years working at Cheddar’s and Piccadilly, where he served as a manager and mentor to countless coworkers and friends here in his hometown of Newport News, VA and Fort Lauderdale, FL. His leadership, compassion, and steady presence made a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. 

A lifelong fan of the Washington Commanders, Gary rarely missed a game and proudly wore his team’s colors through every win or loss. His love for football was only matched by the love he showed to those closest to him.

Gary will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and loyalty. He leaves behind his beloved fiancée, Nicole Strayer, his step-children, Michelle and Vito, his devoted parents, Gary and Tina Spencer, his brother, Greg Spencer and his nephew, Maddox. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held at his parent’s house directly following the service where family and friends will come together to honor his remarkable spirit and share cherished memories.
