Mr. Frederick Sanders, Jr.

Our beloved Frederick M. Sanders Jr., a cherished soul whose light touched many lives, passed away on June 22, 2026, at the age of 39 in Loganville, Georgia. Frederick, better known as “Fred,” was born on September 12, 1986, in Houma, Louisiana, to his loving parents, Lisa Hill Sanders and Frederick M. Sanders Sr.

Fred was a proud 2004 graduate of Thibodaux High School. A true patriot, Fred served honorably in the United States Navy for eight years, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his country and community. He played an integral role in the day-to-day operations of Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia as part of Supply. Through his service, Fred lived in many places and built lasting connections along the way. After completing his military service, he joined PepsiCo, where he worked as a Maintenance Operator. He was employed with PepsiCo for 13 years and worked at the Stone Mountain Plant until the time of his passing. His colleagues remember him not only for his strong work ethic but also for his infectious smile and remarkable personality, which brightened every day. To enhance his professional development, Fred went on to study Cyber Security at Southern New Hampshire University and was on track to earn his bachelor’s degree in December 2026. His dedication to learning and self-improvement inspired all who knew him.

Fred was a man of many passions and talents. Fred loved good food, family, photography, cars and racing, drawing, music, traveling, and shopping. Fred’s life was enriched by many interests. He found joy behind the lens, capturing the world through photography. Music and drawing gave him ways to express his creativity. He was also an adrenaline enthusiast who loved racing and working on his cherished car. Above all, Fred treasured traveling and sharing life’s journey with his beloved wife, Shannika, and his family.

Fred lived a life marked by faith, strength, devotion, and unconditional love for his family and friends. He had a welcoming spirit, a warm voice, and a genuine love for people, making everyone feel valued and at home. With a fearless sense of style and quiet confidence, he carried himself with a smile that brightened every room he entered. 

On April 11, 2015, in Isle of Wight County, Virginia, Fred married the love of his life, Shannika A. Sanders. Their union was a testament to love and devotion, and together they built a family filled with true love, warmth, and laughter.

Fred was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Sanders Sr.; his maternal grandmother, Shirley L. Hill; and his godfather, Jerry Wilson. In addition to his parents, he leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 11 years, Shannika A. Sanders; his parents Mr. Frederick Sanders Sr. and Mrs. Lisa Hill-Sanders, his siblings; LaCretia, Dorrien, Feronte, and Freshonte Sanders; his maternal grandfather, Edward Hill Sr. (Irma Davis); his godmother, Monica Wilson; his mother-in-law, Sandra D. Floyd; his sisters-in-law, Krystle Parham (Fred) and Lakia Floyd; and his brothers-in-law, Jamaal Floyd (Abby) and Jason Floyd Sr. He is also survived by many family members and friends. He will be deeply missed by Rory Godfrey, Alvin Palmer, Edward Hill III, Evan Hill, Alliena Hill-Whittington, Louis Weber, and his coworker and brother, Elias Clay.

As we gather to celebrate Fred’s remarkable life, we remember him as a devoted husband, loving uncle, loyal friend, and kind-hearted soul who left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and light will continue to inspire us all.

Frederick Sanders Jr. will be forever missed, but his spirit will remain in our hearts, guiding us with the warmth of his smile and the echoes of his laughter. Rest in peace, Fred.
