Mr. Ernest Perry, Jr. 61, was known to family as “Stick”, transitioned into internal rest with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a brief battle with cancer on Thursday June 11, 2020, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA.
Ernest was born on February 9, 1959, to the late Ernest Perry Sr. and is survived by his mother Dale Margo Perry in Hampton, VA.
Ernest graduated from Warwick High School in 1977. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Angela Perry, brother Darryl Claiborne, son Jason (Katrina) Croom, daughters Lashaunda Perry (preceded in death), Linette Callicutt, Monique (Peaches) Callicutt, Thalia”Tootie” Sherin, 3 grandchildren, Ja’Anna Croom, Jamari Sherin, Jania Smith and a host of wonderful family and friends.
Ernest retired from Howmet Alcoa as a bore scoper inspector for 20 1⁄2 years, after-which he traveled with his wife, cared for his loving mother, loved to draw and write poetry. Ernest loved to sing and was a beautiful singer and was well known for making people laugh, having a beautiful personality. If you knew him, then you have wonderful memories of laughter that can go on for days.

Viewing for Mr. Perry is scheduled from 12:00 p.m until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Road, Hampton, Virginia 23666 by Pastor Leon E. N. Pierce.
