Mr. Ernest Gray

Mr. Ernest Gray was born on September 1, 1939, in Belhaven, North Carolina, to the late Jake Jefferson Gray and Olivia Whitaker-Gray. He passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, at Norfolk General Hospital.

Ernest attended Pantego Middle School before relocating to New York in search of work to provide for his family. He built a career with the New York City Transit Authority in Brooklyn, retiring in 1995. In 2004, he made his home in Chesapeake, Virginia, where he enjoyed life and cherished every trip back to Pantego to visit family and friends.

It is the Gray  family desire that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
