Emory L. Fullwood, Jr., 52, eldest son of Leeverne and Emory L. (Billy) Fullwood, Sr., transitioned June 28, 2022, at his residence, after a brief illness. Emory (also affectionately known as Emmie) was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. You could depend on him to be there for you for whatever you needed; whether he was working on your car or doing some other favor when called upon.
Emory received his education in the Hampton Virginia Public School system, graduating with a diploma 1990. Emory was a man of many talents. An accomplished artist, he was able to draw at random better or as equally as some professionals; he was an avid car enthusiast, with a keen knowledge of the ins/outs of repairs.
Emmie spent his adult years employed in several areas including Landscaping for McDonald’s Garden Center; as a private contractor for a roofing company; asbestos removal in Key West, Florida; 20 years in Installation at the Newport News Ship Building and the last two years in Trucking.
As a loving father, Emmie doted on his children and granddaughter, always displaying that fatherly pride. He loved spending time with them whether he was watching his son play football, or just enjoying spending quality time with the oldest to the youngest child; but the one who really stole his heart was Miss Issa’Bella, his granddaughter. She could do no wrong in his eyes. Emory was a quiet man of faith, treating everyone with kindness, patience and a humble heart; spoiling his children profusely; he was fun-loving and full of life. He loved watching football, especially his New York Giants football team; going to the beach, swimming, watching movies and listening to his R&B music and spending time with the family.
Emory leaves to cherish his memory, his children Imre Bell, Tiana, Elijah and Kenai Fullwood; granddaughter, Issa’Bella Bell; parents LeeVerne Fullwood and Emory L. Fullwood, Sr.; siblings Michael Fullwood, Jessica Kelley, Joni Gouveia, and Julie Fullwood; aunts Sylvia Howell, Dosher Spruill, Sue Ricks, Norma Easter, Veronica and Sabrina Neal; uncles Ronald Fullwood, C.Jerome Neal and Willie (Cheryl) Neal, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; Thelma and Willie H. Neal, Sr; and Margaret and Fred Fullwood.
It is the desire of the Fullwood family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
