American Veteran 01

Mr. Deshawn L. Johnson

June 3, 1995 ~ July 7, 2021 (age 26)

Mr. Deshawn Levon Johnson, a 3rd Class in the US Navy was born in Hampton, Va to Dwayne and Shelly Johnson Sr on June 3rd 1995. He attended Heritage High School where he played Rugby and he was an avid Drummer in the Band. Deshawn grew up in a tight knit family rooted and grounded in the word of the Lord Jesus Christ. He attended The Glorious Church Of The Lord Jesus Christ Of Apostolic Faith in Newport News, Va. Where he also used his gift of drumming every week. He was full of life and loved to laugh and eat good food.

His greatest goal was to Join the Navy like his brother and to set a legacy for his family he created with His Beautiful wife Deja Johnson. They fell in love in 2017 and were inseparable. Deshawn was an firm believer in family and loyalty. As a result he’d found more family to add to his tree in the car club he joined and his squadron at VP-16. Everyone that crossed his path knew he was a special person and has made it clear he will never be forgotten.

His life will be forever cherished and celebrated by his Wife Deja Johnson, his children Kyngston and Kamrynn Johnson; His Father Dwayne Johnson Sr and His Mother Shelly. His siblings Shawn Tea Miles, Dwayne Johnson Jr. (Davida Johnson (Spouse)), and Amarshay Laney (Sharif Laney (Spouse)).   His Paternal Grandparents, Esther Mae Johnson and Jessie Barrow;  His Maternal grandparents, Laverne W. Clark, Thomas Sanders and Robert Doles. One Nephew, Dwayne Johnson III and Three Nieces Debra Johnson, Zamora Laney, and DaviGrace Johnson. Two uncles,  Wilbur Johnson (Alice) and Todd Wharton. Three aunties,  Vernell Coles (Henry), Kimberly Black and Joan Parker (James) and the late Noralene Maxey (Jeanie) and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

We thank God for the friends and Family coming together to Celebrate Deshawn’s life and Legacy.
