Mr. Davon Rashad Matthews

Mr. Davon Rashad Matthews, born on October 24, 1994 in Hampton, Virginia. He departed this life on Tuesday, May 19, 2020.

Davon was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and he loved his PlayStation. Davon graduated from Heritage High School in the class of 2014 and he was employed by C&F Enterprise. Davon was an intelligent, loving, kind, humbled, and caring young man. He had a smile that would light up anyone's spirit. Most importantly, he was loved by his family and friends. Davon was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Janice Hooker Matthews, his paternal grandparents, Mary Ruth and Richard Lane, his nephew, A. J. Williams as well as his maternal greatgrandparents, Ethel and James Williams Sr.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory his parents Orlando and Toni Matthews, his 7 brothers (Johnny, Timothy, Antwan & Derrick Williams, Orlando Cooper and wife Shanesha, Oshawn Matthews and Ordoul Cooper), his 3 sisters (Carolyn Williams, Jasmine and Iesha Matthews),his paternal grandfather, Glen Matthews, his maternal grandparents, Carolyn and Mike Hundley, 9 nieces, 7 nephews, his lifetime girlfriend Mercedes Battle, who is expecting their first child, a host of aunts and uncles, his friends and cousins including his special cousins Myca and Shakim Smith. Family and friends will forever cherish his memory.

Viewing for Mr. Matthews will be held from 11:00 a.m until 1:00 p.m Saturday, May 30, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Road, Hampton, Virginia 23666.

Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church.

Per request of the family interment will be private.
