Mr. David Robinson Obituary

David Nathaniel Robinson, 83, passed away at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA on Saturday May 29th, 2021. He was born on March 9th, 1938 to Jesse James Robinson and Lucille Boyd. Nathan, as he was called by close friends and family, never veered from his roots & remained in Newport News his entire life. He worked several odd jobs during his time before finally joining the Newport News School System as a custodian. Nathan held that position for many years while also fulfilling his role as patriarch of his family. He later moved on to a custodial position at Hampton University in Hampton, VA where he would eventually retire from after many more years of service.

Nathan was a very proud family man. He loved spending time with his loved ones in any capacity. Whether it was dancing or just joking around he was known to be the life of the party. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. His presence and spirit will sorely be missed by all.

Nathan was preceded in death by his both parents, sister Delores Robinson and two brothers Hayes and Alfred Robinson. Surviving siblings include Gloria Robinson, Shirley Mitchell, Paulette Whittaker, Regina Robinson, Darrine Hicks & James Robinson. He is also survived by his wife of 52 years, Bernice D. Robinson, children (biological & step) Gauntice Coleman, Lisa Gibson, Donna White, Nina White-Fox, Kenneth Moore and Letisia Puzo. Nathan leaves behind 7 grandkids, Lateef Gibson, Nikki Bryant, Shannon White, Yyana Moore, Gregory Puzo Jr., Kavonn Moore and Rhashid Puzo & several great-grandkids.

A memorial service for Mr. Robinson will be held at Noon on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
