Mr. Darryl Langford Obituary

Mr. Darryl Donnell Langford, 56 entered into internal rest May 16, 2020 in Newport News, Va. He was born to Joyce Ann Langford on September 1, 1963. He attended public elementary and high school in Newport News, Va. Darryl was preceded in death by his mother, his brother Charles O. (Chuckie) Langford, his maternal grandmother, Susie Dudley, his maternal great grandmother, Vernice Saddler, his uncle Charles Langford, and a host of other relatives.

Left to cherish, his wonderful memories are his sisters, Cynthia Reedy (Champ), and Sharon Patrice Langford (Alonzo), his aunts and uncles, Mamie Simms, Ronald (Tee) Langford, Floyd Langford, Keith Langford and Sandra Jones (Pernell), his nieces Sharmeka Langford, Shakish Swain (John), Machae Langford (Dee), Keona Langford, his nephews, Brian Langford (Chavela), Corey Langford, DeAndre Langford, and his 15 great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends. Darryl was loved by many.

He was a kind, humble, gentle soul who had an enormous love for family and friends. Darryl never met a stranger. Everyone that he came in contact with he would talk to and laugh with as if he had known them for all of his life. Darryl never complained about anything. He had a big heart. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His spirit was as gentle as the raindrops and as sweet as the smell of roses. The smile that he wore on his face and the joy that he brought to so many will never be forgotten.

Darryl was an avid reader. He enjoyed keeping up with local and national news. He would read the newspaper everyday from the beginning to end. He had a memories like an elephant. He loved reflecting on old times. He remembered things that most had forgotten. He even remembered the telephone number that we had as very young kids. He loved music.

He use to ride his bike while holding a huge boombox on his shoulder so that he could listen to music while riding. He loved music so much that he knew the names of all the artist and the titles of the songs that that they sang. Lastly, Darryl was in his comfort zone whenever he was with family and friends. His favorite saying was, "I love my family". Darryl worked as a roofer until he was unable to do so due to medical issues. Darryl was a loving, caring, and affectionate brother.

He was a wonderful uncle to his nieces and nephews, and a kind soul to cousins, friends, and other family members. Although he is no longer with us in the physical realm, he will always be in our hearts and his spirit will live on through all that loved him. Rest in Peace baby brother. We all love you!
