Mr. Darrell “Tyrone” Hill

Mr. Darrell Tyrone Hill, affectionately known as “Tydow” was a lifelong resident of Hampton, Virginia. He passed away suddenly on February 22, 2026, at Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton. Darrell was a fun-loving spirit who was deeply loved by his family, friends, and community.

Darrell was the youngest child of the late Carolyn Taylor Hill and Herman Hill, Sr. He was educated in Hampton City Public Schools and graduated from Bethel High School in 1986. During his high school years, he was a member of the wrestling team and developed a lifelong passion for weightlifting and bodybuilding. Known as a jack of all trades, Darrell worked in various fields throughout his life. Most recently, he was employed at Vanguard Brewpub & Distillery in Hampton, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Gail Hill; both his maternal and paternal grandparents; and a host of beloved aunts and uncles.

Darrell leaves to cherish his memory his beloved son, Shauking Parker of Newport News, Virginia; his brothers, Herman Hill, Jr. (Wanda) of Hampton, Virginia, Gary Hill (Erica) of East Point, Georgia, and Issac Hill (Shalesha) of Austin, Texas; his nieces, Kisha Hill of Charlotte, North Carolina, Tamika Hill-Turner (Brittany) of Hampton, Virginia, and Alisha Hill of Newport News, Virginia; and his nephew, Marquise Hill of Hampton, Virginia. He is also survived by his aunts, Glenda Hicks (Luther), Susie Freeman of Hampton, Virginia, and Kim Garris-Williams of Hampton, Virginia, along with many cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends.

Darrell was a cherished family member and dear friend who touched the lives of many. His presence brought laughter, strength, and love to everyone around him. Losing him has left a deep void in our hearts. He will be truly missed but forever remembered for his storytelling, dance moves, sense of humor, and the love he shared so freely with those around him.

It is the desire of the Hill family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

The family of Mr. Darrell Hill  has entrusted his final care to C. C. Carter Funeral Home.
