Dantrell “Danny” Leshaun Elliot, 31, returned to his heavenly home on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Riverside Medical Center, in Newport News, VA. Danny’s devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Danny was born alongside his twin, Dontrell “Donny” Deshaun Elliot, to his mother, Robin Elliot, in Norfolk, VA on February 12, 1990. He was immersed in the Christian community that would be his lifelong support from an early age. Often, he was called to serve the prayer at his first church, Compassion Community Church, during worship. A devout saint, Danny made it his mission to spread the gospel with open arms for all who he came across. A lover of literature, history, games, cuisines from all cultures, and praying, Danny graciously became a teacher to those who wanted access to the wealth of knowledge and wisdom he had stored. For those that knew Danny, he was more than a light in our dark world. He was truly an angel on Earth that God loaned to this world. Danny, most commonly known in his community as “The Ultimate Prayer Warrior,” always kept his family close to his heart. What he loved most in this earthly world was being able to spend quality time with them.
Danny was blessed with a large and loving family. He is survived by his mother, Robin Elliot of Newport News, VA, his twin, Dontrell “Donny” Elliot of Newport News, VA; three older brothers, Shavis Holloman of Newport News, VA, Emmanuel Holloman (Lisa) of Hampton, VA, Jevminati Abdul-Muhaymin SovMaver of Hampton, Va; three sisters, Cherayal Elliot of Hampton, VA, Ja’Lisha Urquhart of Alexandria, VA and Dar’Asia Elliot of Colorado Springs, CO; seven nieces and nephews; Nevaeh Imani Holloman Williams, A’najah Mona’e Jamison, Malachi Alcoa Harris, Natalia Lisaunte Holloman, Sha’Vionna Denise Holloman, Jeviya Sumayyah SovMaver, and Ubaydah Khaleed SovMaver; four aunts, Chrystal Paul, Angela Gwaltney, Tracy Holloman, Terri Holloman; five uncles, James Paul, Tony Gwaltney, Kenneth Holloman, Keith Holloman, and Michael Holloman; and a host of cousins. Danny will be missed tremendously.
Viewing for Mr. Elliot will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at his home church, Ivy Baptist Church in Newport News, Virginia.
A funeral service will be held immediately following the viewing on Wednesday, July 14, at Ivy Baptist Church.
Interment for Mr. Elliot will be private.
The family asked that those who choose to give a gift to honor Danny are asked to make a contribution in his name to Ivy Baptist Church.
It is the desire of the Elliot family that you would keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
