Mr. Charles Battle Obituary

Mr. Charles Edward Battle, age 64, of Hampton, Virginia, passed away on January 15, 2026, at Riverside Regional Hospital. Born on April 25, 1961 to Almond Jean Marshall, Charles was a dedicated professional of the Newport News Shipyard for 42 years, after a short service in the National Guard. Affectionately known as "Popce" he was truly a cherished member of the community. Kung Fu movies and Westerns would fill his time on most days as he would "glue" himself to the screen. Charles's family was his world, if they were smiling, he indeed was smiling too. Popce gave selflessly to anyone who was in need, often under the watchful eye of his observant wife.

Family time meant the world to Popce. He made sure the women in his life were happy and well taken care of. He installed in his son and grandsons to be men. Charles loved to dance with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His favorite song was "Boogie Wonderland" by Earth, Wind, and Fire. Needless to say, spending time with his family brought him so much joy.

Charles is survived by his wife of 37 years, Juanita C. Battle, three brothers ,Tommy Edward Battle, Terence Edward Battle, and Ronnie Lee Battle, one uncle Louis Battle, his children Nayantara Warren (Corey), Tamika Charity, Michele Torres, Dimitri' Battle, Lexus Romans, eleven grandchildren Ayana, Promis, D'ayvion, Janiya, Evelynn, Aaron, Caelynn, Madelynn, Serenity, Raelynn, and Dimiti' Jr.

Popsi will be missed by all but we will continue to cherish his memory in our hearts forever.

It is the desire of the Battle family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
