Mr. Carter Newsome was the first born on September 12, 1944 in Winton, North Carolina to Rufus Newsome, Sr. and Inez Bowser Newsome (deceased).
He attended school at C.S. Brown in North Carolina. Carter worked at Newport News Shipbuilding Industries, City of Hampton, and. Whitaker Memorial Hospital. He never met a stranger.
He had the patience of Job and was a very friendly person. He loved the Lord and loved to go to church. He was a member of Joynes Road Church of God, Rev. Dr. Simeon R. Green, III. He visited the well and the sick, prayed for them, and offered words of encouragement.
He was a member of the ELKs LODGE #4. He was also a creator craftsman. He truly loved his wife, Dottie Newsome and was married to her for 50 years and took good care of her. He loved his family. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Rufus Newsome, Jr "Buck", Lindsey Newsome and Betty Jean Pierce.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Dottie Newsome; children, Debbie Banks (Glenn Banks), Sabrina Monroe (Clifford Monroe); grandchildren, Jasmine Ruffin (Tevin), Kahlil Taylor, Gabrielle Newsome (Shawn), Jahlil Taylor, Kahliq Taylor, Alejandro Marrero, Kamari Vick, Glenn Banks, Jr., Debbye Banks and Lauren Banks; great-grandchildren, Jaslyn Ruffin, Cali Taylor, Keith Carter Ruffin, Angela Burke and Gabriella Burke. A special family friend, Anthony Leacock and Deacon Norman Walker; and a host of other relatives and friends.
