Mr. Bobby Lewis

Bobby Lewis was born April 12, 1963 to the late Dorothy and Roland Lewis in Branchville, Southampton County, VA.  He departed this life on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 12:36 am in his home with family.

Bobby was a 1982 graduate of Southampton High School.  He enlisted in the United States Army after high school serving 3 years active duty and 1 year reserves after which he was employed with Casey Honda for 9 years.  Bobby retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) in 2019 after 27 years.  

Bobby was an outdoorsman. He loved gardening, fishing and hunting. 

He was preceded in death by both parents and one sister Sonya Daggs.

He leaves to cherish his memories; wife Deborah Spruill Lewis, three sons, Timothy, Dartanien and Brian Spruill all of Newport News, VA; a daughter, Shawanna Crump of Las Vegas, Nevada; two grandchildren, Xyleena and Caiden, two sisters, Mary Lewis, and Shirley Campbell (Jimmy), and one brother, James Lewis, all of Newport News; Special Guardian, Rosa Wallace of Murfeersboro, North Carolina; three aunts, Barbara Suiter, Shirley Poole of North Carolina, and Rosa Darden of Suffolk, Virginia,  and a host of other relatives and friends.  

Viewing for the late Mr. Bobby Lewis will be held from noon until 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2019 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2019 at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Big Bethel Road Hampton, Virginia by Dr. Christopher C. Carter, Sr.

Interment with military honors will be held at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia.
