Mr. Amir Kelly

Amir Javon Kelly departed this life on Sunday December 29, 2024, in Newport News, Virginia.

Our beloved Amir was a radiant beacon of light in our lives.  A gentle spirit whose very essence brought warmth and joy to everyone blessed to know him. His laughter and infectious sense of humor filled the room with happiness.  With a heart overflowing with respect and appreciation.  Amir’s loving nature was shown brightly, embodying patience and kindness in every interaction.  He had a magical ability to make people feel valued and cherished.  He brought peace and harmony wherever he went.  His passion illuminated his world. He found joy and the realm of video games.  He discovered a profound love for sports, especially football.  One of his most cherished memories was scoring a touchdown while his family erupted in cheers when their voices were echoing with pride and unwavering support.  With an eye for fashion that mirrored his vibrant spirit.  Amir approached his education with enthusiasm and dedication, particularly excelling in math which was his favorite subject. He proudly achieved AB Honor Roll status. Surrounded by an incredible network of teachers, counselors and friends.  Dancing was another one of Amir’s passions, and he was delighted in expressing himself through movement alongside his brothers and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Michael Lankford, Sr. great-grandfather Willie Kelly and Pernell Langhorne Sr., great grandmother Arlene Langhorne and Uncle Quinton Kelly.

Amir leaves to cherish his memories Mother Angel Kelly (Dwayne) Father Michael Lankford, Jr. Two loving grandmothers, Michelle Strickland and Cynthia Lankford, Grandfather Edwin Strickland, (2) Brothers, Azriel and Jaiden Wilder, (1) Sister Aziyah Thompson, a great grandmother Peggy Brown.  A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and a special friend TaQuandria Evans.

It is the desire of the Kelly family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
