Evangelist Carolyn Ann Burrell Dunmore was born May 29, 1939 in Southampton County ( Franklin, VA) and was the only child of Garrett H. Burrell and Willie Mae (Gay) Burrell. Her Maternal Grandparents were Jane (Lockley) Burrell and Mary ( Borritt) Gay. They moved to Hampton, VA ( formly Elizabeth City County) the same year of her birth.
She attended Phoenix High School and was said to attended a few years at Hampton Institute majoring in music and some business.
She was blessed with a gift of singing, although she never read music. She could hear a song once and sing it with perfection. Her dream was to one day sing for the Metropolitan Opera. But before that dream could be pursued she married and started a family.
She attended Queen Street Baptist Church in her youth, helped form the female local gospel group The Golden Stars and prior to going home to be with The Lord became an evangelist and was a very active member of Eternal Life Church until her passing.
She is survived by her children Anitra Nottingham , Aprille Nottingham, Astrid Boone, William Wheeler, Carolyn Wheeler, Gwendolyn Reid, an host of grandchildren and great grandchildren along with her entire Church family at Eternal Life who showed great love and care for her and her spouse over the years. She is now joined with David L. Dunmore ( Spouse), Garrett and Willie Mae Burrell ( Parents), Faith Wheeler ( Daughter) and Juston Nottingham ( Grandson)
