Elder James Thomas McAllister was born November 27, 1943 to the late Laura and John Thomas. Upon this union, five children were born in North Carolina.
James "Billy" Thomas left North Carolina at an early age and moved to Newport News, Virginia. James worked for the city of Hampton where he retired after 35 years of dedicated service as a truck driver.
James loved his family including his church family. He served as a Trustee for many years at Christ Temple Holiness Church, of Newport News, Virginia until his recent death.
James loved his television shows including but not limited to Westerns and Baseball, just to name a few. Although James never had any children of his own, he cherished his stepchildren as they were his own.
James is preceded in death by wife, Mary McAllister, his parents, John and Laura, two brothers, Robert David and Willie McAllister.
James also leaves treasured memories with his sisters, Alice Spearman, Rosa McAllister and Lillie Newkirk, his daughters, Sydney Thomas, Jewel Chance and Princess Hearns. James also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, his devoted friend Joann Wright and many caring church members.
Viewing for Elder McAllister will be held from 1:00p.m. until 5:00p.m., Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.
Services for Elder McAllister will be held noon Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home. Inc.
Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
Mask are required for entry into the funeral home. Social Distancing practices will be followed.
