Chief Petty Officer Myisha Washington Obituary

Chief Petty Officer Myisha Jeanine Washington, affectionately known as Jeanine, was born on July 14, 1977, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Janet Simpson and Carl Spencer. She entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 23, 2025, in Hampton, Virginia.

Jeanine was always a popular girl with a bubbly personality. She had many friends from different walks of her life. One thing is for sure, her friends always matched her fly. The first thing you would notice about Jeanine was definitely her height and how short she was, with a smile that matched her personality. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, shopping, and spending time with her friends and family.

Jeanine was a graduate of John Jay High School, class of 1995. She enlisted in the United States Reserves in 2003. Along the journey, she decided that she would become part of the United States Navy as a culinary specialist. Setting the foundation for a lifetime of achievement and service. In December 2023, she became Chief Petty Officer. While serving her country, she obtained her paralegal/pre-law degree at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Jeanine also studied forensic investigation at Excelsion University. While living and serving in Virginia, Jeanine joined the Order of the Eastern Star Blooming Light Chapter #111, where she remained a devoted member until her passing.

Jeanine is preceded in death by her parents, Janet Simpson and Carl Spencer; Grandparents, Ernest Simpson Senior and Nettie Simpson; and one Uncle, John D Simpson. 

Jeanine is survived by her son, Jermaine Simpson; three grandchildren, Jayden, Moody, Jae’lani Simpson, Jakobi Simpson, and the next bundle of joy on the way Juelz Simpson all of Virginia; one sister, Tonia Simpson of New York; one brother, Mustapha Mohammed of Brooklyn, New York; one honorary sister, Stacye Butler of Virginia; three uncles, Nathan Simpson (Pearl), Ernest Simpson, Jr., and Ernest Lee Simpson all of South Carolina; three great aunts, Ruth McFadden, Claire Mae Mcfadden, and Vivian Mcfadden; three nieces Carisma Simpson, Stacy Simpson and Nailah Mohammad all of New York; one Nephew, Fahim Mohammad; one great niece, Ariella Coleman; her significant other, Jonathan Smith, whom she loved until the end of her time. Jeanine also leaves a host of cousins and friends from New York, all the way down to the shores of Florida.

 

It is the desire of the Washington/ Simpson family that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

 

The family of Chief Petty Officer Myisha Washington has entrusted her final care to C. C. Carter Funeral Home.
