Apostle Janice Parker Obituary

On May 13, 2025 Apostle Janice A. Paker transitioned from this world into her heavenly Father's loving arms. Surrounded by her family she peacefully entering into her eternal rest.

Janice was born on December 6, 1957 in Fort Polk, Louisiana to Clayton Sherin and the late Mary Sherin. Her greatest joy was her family and she was a devoted loving mother to daughter Christina Bailey (Gary) and son Andrew Holmes (Angelique). She was also a nurturing grandmother to Destiny, Imani, Aiyana, Gabrielle, Alissa, Tiana, Omarion, Dandrew and Kieana who affectionately called her Nana. They were the light of her life.

Janice education began at West Leesville Elementary, and continued at Leesville Junior High School, Leesville, Louisiana. After relocating she proudly graduated "Summa Cum Lauda" from Denbigh High School. Janice joined the United States Army and served as secretary to the Brigadier General, of the North Carolina National Guard. Her passion for Administrative work allowed her to enjoy a "secretary life" at  the Hospital of Veteran's Affairs and later retired from the City of Newport News, Va. to work full time in Ministry.

Janice accepted Christ at an early age and continued her spiritual journey throughout her life. Out of her love for God and love of helping people she founded A Message From the Lord Ministry. The Ministry provided clothes for the needy, Prison Ministry and a Healing, Deliverance Ministry. A dedicated servant, who loved God and believed in the power of prayer. She loved preaching and teaching, often traveling to share the Gospel. She was in the process of working on a book called, "Gifts of The Spirit."

Janice was preceded in death by her, beloved mother Mary Sherin. She is survived by her father, Clayton Sherin and siblings: Rev. Willie Sherin (Evette), Rev. Alfredia Devita, Sherman Sherin (Cynthia). Janice leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces and nephews who adored her, Thalia Sherin (Christopher) Quetina Howell (Thomas)  Alvin Pittman (Davonne), Sherman Sherin Jr., Sadie Hughes.Many called her Ma Parker because of her nurturing spirit and open arms. Special mentions are: Smith Girls, Clinton, NC. Felicia Underwood, Joyce Sanders, Mina and many more

Her last scripture reading was Psalm 30:2 O Lord my God, I cried to You for help, and You have healed me.  And He did Mom is healed and now in the presence of the Lord.

It is the desire of the Parker/Bailey families that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

The family of Apostle Janice Parker has entrusted her final care to C. C. Carter Funeral Home.
